The C-major suite by Bach is the one I find the most difficult to relate to and make sense of. I invited some friends over for another concert at home, handed out paper forms I’d made by dividing the page into six sections, and asked my audience if they’d like to put down some words during my playing. The result was overwhelming! After my playing I received these forms full of keywords and sceneries and storylines and drawings. Very inspiring to me in my ongoing process of playing this music that I’ve struggled to enjoy to play for many years.

Here is a video of that performance.
